I deliver the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course in Washington, DC and across the nation for corporations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions and governmental agencies. The MHFA course works to increase basic knowledge about mental health and practical skills on how best to notice and respond to mental health situations involving family members, friends, co-workers, students, customers and/or the general public. The interactive curriculum consists of a 130 pp. participant manual, videos, role plays, group discussions and a PowerPoint presentation.
I teach the Adult and Youth versions (see descriptions below) of the 8-hour certificate course for groups up to 30 participants. Each version can be delivered separately in one full or two half-day sessions. Please contact me to discuss the program further, my fees, and your interest in sponsoring a course.
The 8-hour Adult MHFA certificate course is designed to give adults the information and skills they need to aid other adults who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, disorder, or crisis.
The 8-hour Youth MHFA certificate course is designed to give adults the information and skills they need to aid youth, ages 13-18, who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, disorder, or crisis.
To whet your appetite for the 8-hour certificate course, I can also offer briefer overview classes about the MHFA program and highlights of key messages and activities.
